Fact Friday 3-26-2010

So last week I was so swamped there was no time for blogging. This week was even more busy, Making both my A and B businesses pop off at the same time. Always trying to be totally successful. Wow its always great when that happens. Two days ago a customer made me get a hair cut. Well actually they tried to fix there water heater, then once they couldn't they called the plumber. Of course I show up asked what the problem was and go to diagnose the failure. When bam a huge flame shoots out the pilot assembly door. I move quickly, bumped my head and scratched my face. OK so as I try to get my bearings I realized my far head was bleeding, I go to my truck, put a band aid on and notice my hair caught fire, GREAT 5 MONTHS OF NO HAIRCUT GONE with a bald spot, doing my job and no alcohol involved. Now I have to explain to the customer how they messed up and should have informed me that they tampered with the gas valve. 120$ repair now over 400$ and a 20$ hair cut. I think they learned a lesson and feel good that there house didn't burn down. For all that read this DON'T touch the gas valve unless you are trained to do so !!! Any hoot I will give you a weekly dose of what I have learned this week and last week too...

Another Sunday spreading the word

So Another glorious week has passed and it was time for "Jeff the plumber" to give his sermon at two senior centers. This week was way busy, Between Family, work, Monavie, and Friends all pulling every which way and I giving them all of my heart and soul. WoW it always makes me reflect on how great life is. As I share this morning with you, I'm at no time trying to impress upon you or even think I'm giving a good speech on the word of GOD. Just taking what I read and sharing with those whom may need it:

Sunday March 21st 2010 Reading from John 11:17-27

17On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. 18Bethany was less than two miles[a] from Jerusalem, 19and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. 20When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
21"Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask."

23Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."

24Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

25Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

27"Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ,[b] the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

There is probably no better time to read this verse then right now. There seems to be a real sense of gloom or doom in our world right now. It's like a shadow. Just glooming over everyone of our shoulders, I feel it. Maybe it's the worlds financial situation who knows. People say that Church attendance and membership is down and now one really knows why. People are blaming all kind of things, But I have an idea now is the time to embrace GOD

As one talks to people each day as I "Jeff the plumber" does each day. There seems to be a real sense of stress. we have a long shadow of terrorism especially since 9-11 and were tired of all the alerts. Or the saying "weapons of mass destruction". Or even the constant news about the war in Iraq. Which has gone way longer than anyone wanted. Even suicides has tripled as a result our our economic downfall, not just in the united states but across the whole world, This gloom lurks

What do we do when there is a sense of gloom that persuades our lives ???
You go to the book of God and read for the answer is there
In John 11:17-27 We encounter Mary and Martha at a very dark time in there lives. The shadow of death has fallen upon their home, their brother, Lazarus is dead and as a family, all single living together, so close nit. Suffering from a big big loss. Life spinning out of control and GOD seemed to be absent.

What would you do in that situation ???
I know, Read the book of God, For HE will give you guidance !!!

Sometimes you hear Christians or believers are not supposed to grieve. In Thessalonians 4:3 it says "Tell us not to grieve as those who have no hope" No, No, No, grief is not being unfaithful. It is a normal part of our lives as believers. It's not an expression of a lack of faith. It is an expression of how much you love some one. The deeper the love the deeper the grief. This is the gloom we are feeling right now. We let our emotions lead our way so know all that is going awry in this world right now has us grieving. Yet we forget GOD

One must tell GOD how you are feeling. He is not intimidated by how you feel. When you read the book of GOD, You will see HE mourns when you mourn. Just tell GOD, Even if it doesn't sound religious, You lost your job, can't make your house payment, or just have physical pain. Just tell HIM, And maybe just maybe if we all start doing this on a regular basis we can rid this shadow of gloom. If we all let it out HEALING can begin

Trust GOD and HE will speak. We will come out of this gloomy situation. GOD wants to deliver us from this depression and despondency. But again we must loosen them and let go !!!
LET US PRAY
Thank you GOD for always showing us the way. Continue to protect our military, Keep healing those who have been harmed in the earthquakes, for they have have lost there way, Thank you for the strength to finish my marathon last week. Thank you for allowing me to share your word with these great people. Continue to protect them and strengthen them for we all believe

In the name of our father and the holy spirit AMEN

Just because

So this weekend I went on a hike with some friends. WOW what a great planet we have. It was a simple hike to some waterfall up outside Auburn California. Seven of us total, Getting exercise, Having great conversations, Building better friendships. One more example of why living is great. Just beware of the mountain Elephants. I feel weird saying this, Because I pride myself on being a very masculine man, But I love you guys, all of you, Nick, Jenn, Ben, Nicole, Peter, and Sarah. To many more hikes

Sometimes you may wonder how poorly we treat this wonderful planet. Each day were on this earth destroying it. I don't know maybe it's just me but how can we keep this looking so great. when I'm out in the Forrest, as close to mother nature a boy from New York city can get, I just breathe it into my lungs. Or I think about that Native American commercial with the strong Indian crying because of all the trash and pollutants, We can make some impact, NO !!! Some say there is no GOD and I'm not trying to start that argument, But I believe This earth is great and he made it this way. So lets try and protect it, Every little bit counts. If even you just recycle or re-use something. Take a shower one minute less, Or even for some spice in your life shower with your spouse. This will make a difference. Another great energy savor is just turning your thermostat at home just 4 degrees higher or lower depending on the season, This counts. Turn your lights off or change your light bulbs to fluorescent. All small things and there is many more. You make the choice !!!

I know I'm hitting you with common sense. If your reading this your old enough to make some change and if anything IT will save you money. So pitch in, make a difference, MOTHER NATURE will thank you... Real Truth from da plumber
